Sunday June 7th Schedule!

After many discussions with staff, church council and deacons, we have decided to have a soft church service in the sanctuary next Sunday the 7th @ 10:45 am.  Many restrictions are still in place and we definitely need to know who is planning to come.  PLEASE let us know if you and your family are planning to attend.  We can only have so many so please call 581-5173 if you want to come over.  We will let you know then what the guidelines are.

Several of us have been anxiously awaiting this day to come.  It's a start to hopefully a full and restored church building on Sunday mornings.  We have missed each other but have faithfully followed the leadership of the state.   If you do not feel comfortable coming next Sunday, it will still be lived streamed on facebook.

Centennial's COVID-19 Plan (5-4-2020)

This is Centennial's plan moving forward.  This decision has been made by the staff, the church council, and the deacons.  It is not a decision that has been easy.  We are looking at having worship services starting on June 7th at the church.  Depending on when the government officials determine what phase of the reopening we are in, we may have one or two options of reopening.  We will also continue to evaluate what the plan is, and if it is determined that the state is opening faster, then we may move the date up.  Obviously, this is a very fluid situation.  When we reopen, we will probably start with two worship services and no Sunday School.  We will not be running the bus right away.  We will not have children’s worship or the nursery when we reopen.  The coffee stations will not be in operation, nor will we be having breakfast pastries or doughnuts.

The initial reason for not having church was to love our church family and our community.  That reason is again why we are not going to gather right away.  Our church has a highly vulnerable population.  I had talked to several of our older folks last week and initially they were extremely excited about meeting again, but after they thought about it, they realized that they still should not be congregating with large groups of people.  Our Christian witness in our community would be badly tarnished if we were ground zero for an outbreak in our county.

Trust me when I say that I am anxious to meet with you for church.  I want us to have our church family gathered together for worship.  We will continue to have our worship services streamed on Facebook live at 10:45 AM as well as on our website www.centennialbaptistchurch.com.  We have been fortunate that we have not had too many technical difficulties.  We have been trying to improve the quality week by week. I hope that has enhanced your worship experience.  If you have not been able to participate in the service, we can send you a DVD to watch at your convenience.  Please let us know of any way that we can be of assistance.

We have other opportunities to gather as a church family.  We have online prayer meeting each Wednesday at 7:00 PM via Zoom.  We text and email the link each week for that meeting.  Since we are not able to have Sunday School we have an online Bible study on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM also via Zoom.  The links are also sent out via text messaging and email.  The children have been meeting at 4:00 PM Wednesday on Zoom and the youth meet on Sunday night on Zoom as well.

Who's Your One Virtual Tour

People need Jesus more than ever. We all need to be equipped to share our faith with those around us. Please join me in sharpening our skills!
